Heartbeat – It’s a Lovebeat

Beauty in the day: it’s the mom of the very young woman with a new (to her) pair of lungs. That mom has done some serious time in her life, and all her heartbeats have been for others.
Tammy Spading Wallace – you don’t need to donate your heart – it’s already been filling up so many people with love. ❀️

King Me

Beauty in the day: in this truly harried day, I found several little beauty moments; like the kid who told me that the best thing about a school that collects box tops is that he eats A LOT of cereal; like the kid that showed up wearing safety glasses to go with his safety gloves; but my favorite is the story behind this picture of my (absolutely adorable) granddaughter. The drawing is of a lion, she says, and her beautiful mom (okay, I’m taking a little smidgen of credit for that) reports that Jaffrey is “very into the Lion King”. I’m told that Jaffrey thinks that the song lyrics are “Oh, I just can’t wait to meet The King!”

Blessed by Association

Beauty in the day: sometimes people do good things for people that you love. For me, when that happens, it feels like they are doing something for my family. This means my fam is getting the love right now. Thanks, people who do good things for the people that I love. ❀️

Good Friday, 2015

My oldest baby posted this pic of her oldest baby (not yet 3 years old) with this caption:

*Jaffrey Ayla: sitting in morning light at the bar with Minnie. She is reading her Bible with her cereal and “coffee” and she is “highlighting” (slash coloring) with crayons in her Bible. I hear her tell Minnie, “This is Jesus,” as she points to her Bible. Then she says to Minnie’s face, “He lives in your heart.”

Somewhere Over the Candy Waterfall

Beauty in the day: Sometimes a second-hand story is as good as being there. This was told to me today about a student, a first grader. The teacher was sharing about her grandmother, and a little guy (who has made headlines before) piped up (which, by the way, is his style. Always.) “Um, I had a grandpa, but he died, but it’s okay because I will get to see him again someday. He went to a really good place, with candy waterfalls and Pokemon roads.” Besides being heart-wrenchingly cute, it’s also heartwarming to know that someone who loves him, lined out his grandpa’s afterlife in terms that he could really relate to.
